The Story of the Hungry, Gay Ninja

Yesterday was our first day in Kyoto.  Fun Fact:  For this trip, Keith and I decided to only visit cities that are anagrams of Tokyo.  That being said, we are very excited for our next stop in the little-known Japanese hamlet of Kooty! ... Anyway, after the craziness of monsters, robots and owls that Tokyo offered, we wanted to try something a little more traditional.  So obviously, we opted to go to the Ninja Restaurant and Museum. This is the great and epic tale of that journey. The Story of the Hungry, Gay Ninja A Poem! Jeff and Keith wandered from their fancy Princess hotel... ...down the dark and quiet streets of Kyoto to find an exciting story to tell. Jeff was distracted by unique stores... ...but those things are what Keith ignores. Soon, they found a place that was anything but nonchalant... ...an honest-to-goodness Ninja Restaurant!   They were taken to a table by a super-friendly staffer... ...

Alas the time has come for us to leave Tokyo. Hi, Tokyo you are wacky, hilarious and overwhelming. The people are so helpful when a couple of idiot Americans stand around confused like a monkey trying to do a math problem. Today we are heading to Kyoto which is about a 5 1/2 hour drive from Tokyo but we will be getting there in about half the time because we are taking A BULLET TRAIN! First stop is we have to get to Tokyo station... Which we were told was one of the most banana pants train stations in all of Tokyo. It apparently puts  Union Station in NYC to shame in sheer size and confusion. But somehow we managed to find exactly where we needed to go in about five minutes... Shinkansen is the high speed rail system that we were going to be taking... Jeff has a history of being excited about trains...that is until he gets on one of  them Jeff clearly had his priorities in check... And they only had one bottle of wine because who drinks...

I have no words for what we just saw. Jeff had told me that a few of our friends had been to the Robot Restaurant show and they all agreed it was bananas pants and they were not wrong. I still am not even sure what I just saw.  It was hilarious and weird and made absolutely no sense and it was also stressful because you were in a constant state of fear of being decapitated by a 'robot'. And the weirdness and stress continued once we left... Does anyone need a stress test? After the show I needed to eat my face off so we went in search of a ramen restaurant. The one we found had a machine like this to order from. It's really cool you just press buttons for what you want and pay and you get a ticket to hand to the cook and they just bring your food... Me in my happy place... FOOD!! After eating my body weight in noodles...again, we decided it was time to be homos and hit up the gay district which is in an area called Ni-chome... It'...
