Just a Couple of Shriners

So we woke up this morning, but really it was the 4th morning because we both woke up at 2am, 4am and 6am...we are in the future here and have no clue what time of day it is. We are staying at the HundredStay in Shinjuku...not entirely sure why it's a HundredStay, but I need to sleep for a HundredDays....see what I did there...shut up, I'm very tired! (and as an aside we are both currently blogging at 4am, we're doin great though!)

Okay enough rambling, its Day One in Tokyo! The day started off as it should with us trying to figure out how to use the shower and flooding the whole bathroom.  With all the advancements they have made in the world of toilets, why did Japan not let the same toilet geniuses be shower geniuses as well. Or it could be that we are just idiots. Speaking of idiots, the other idiot blogging 4 feet from me planned a day of driving around Tokyo in Mario karts, dressed in costume, so we swam out of our hotel room/pool and headed out on the metro to an area called Shinagawa.

We went a little early because there is a shrine that Jeff found, he said it would be about a 15 minute walk from the Metro stop, and by 15 minutes he meant 15 feet because it was there as soon as we got out.

I loved that it's just plunked in the middle of the city and everything was built up around it...

Yes that's a Domino's Pizza across the street...

These are wishes and prayers that people can leave...

There was more to see but we weren't allowed to take photos and we are trying really hard to not get kicked out of the country before we even realize what time zone we are in...

After exploring the Shrine we still had a couple hours to kill so we found some gardens to check out. I was starting to perish and needed a pick me up...and no I was NOT getting grumpy why would you say that? I was starting to get a splitting headache...

Splitting...get it, like split in two! These are the jokes I've got people.

One thing to know about Tokyo is that they love a vending machine. And we spotted one that had coffee in it so of course we needed to try...

Who doesn't want to be a Rainbow Boss!

I mean if Tommy Lee Jones approves it, then it's good enough for me. Now that we are human adjacent it's time to go drive around Tokyo in GoKarts dressed up like Mario and Luigi because yeah, that seems like a smart thing to do. We can barely drive in regular cars. Oh did I mention that like the UK, Japan drives on the opposite side of the road. What could go wrong...
